An Inconvenient Truth

I just heard about what I think is a very important book and movie. A must see for the people of the world. It's time we started paying attention to what's happening to our climate before it is too late. Everyone is so concerned about the almighty dollar that they push aside what is happening to our world. They want to earn a buck and push aside the fact that we could be leaving our children and grandchildren a horrible legacy. If you think nah it's just crazy talk look at our weather. Look at Katrina and all the other hurricanes that have hit recently. Just in Massachusetts the winters have been crazy either piles of snow and freezing cold (they even cancelled school two years ago because it was so cold) or else unseasonably warm. It's almost the end of June and we are just starting to have some really warm days. The heat actually came on here in June...that is unheard of. We are in trouble and we need to start taking it seriously...we need to pay attention. Check out An Inconvenient Truth. Pay attention. Make a change.

I want to see this, actually. It'll probably scare the bejeebers out of me, though.

Yup, evertime I hear things about what we are doing to our world it scares the crap out of me.

It scares me to think there are such gullible people out there. Many scientists that specialize in weather disagree with this theory. The earth is cyclical in nature and you are being stirred up in a frenzy to satisfy the political ambitions of Gore and his congregation.

Sorry Creator but I disagree with you.

I'm not 100% on the global warming bandwagon, but I do think we're doing serious damage to the planet and it's hard to know what the repercussions might be. I think we have to be open-minded enough to consider it, and regardless of what we do or don't believe, smarten up about pollution and waste.

Definitely. Even if you think Gore is just trying to stir up his political career common sense would indicate that it can't be good to be spewing all these chemicals in the air, into our water and into our food. Just look at the cases of cancer in areas where pollutants have been dumped into the water supplies. Look at LA with is huge smog problem. What is all this stuff being dumped doing to our oceans? It may be able to recover from it but for how long? When will it be too much for our ecosystem to handle? Definitely something to think about.

Good for you Sandra, because the only way to truly find the repurcussions etc. is to use good science and leave the emotions to love and politics. I would also like to occasionally here from the scientists in the weather related fields that are not tainted or influenced by grant seeking etc. Pollution of course is not good, but we also need to be realistic and work together in a fair way to solve these issues. Gore's movie will not help in this vain.
