The Garden

Well the garden is finally begining to grow now that we have had some really warm weather. I didn't think our vegatable garden would ever get going but we are now eating some peas. The eggplant and tomatos are finally growing bigger, the lettuce is coming along and some of the flowers are blooming.

The rain has been taking it's toll on some of the flowers and they are now kissing the ground. And of course I'm behind in my weeding since it seems to always be raining. I did get some weeding done today but it's supposed to rain for the next 3 or 4 days so we shall see if I can do anymore. And in case you can't tell the grass needs to be mowed again but since it's going to rain tomorrow we are going to wait.

We are also growing peppers, basil and swiss chard. And we do have a number of herbs growing including oregano, dill, thyme, marjoram, orange mint, lemon balm, golden lemon balm, chives.

Thanks! I get my love of gardening from my parents. You should see their yard. They have such a green thumb. Now if I could just get rid of the bugs. Got squash borers eating our squash plants and not much we can do about it. Just hope the squash grows fast enough. I do garden all organically and we have a couple of compost piles. The garden really loves the compost. Plus this year i threw our grass clippings on the vegatable garden and it seemed to like it. What with that and all the rain we had this year our vegetable garden is the best it's ever been.
